Christmas is the season many celebrate the birth of Christ. People attend special church services, display elaborate lightings, give presents, get together with family and friends and attend special musical concerts. And often, families drive around communities to view the beautiful Christmas lights.
Eatonton
The Putnam County Courthouse in Eatonton is beautifully decorated with wreaths in each window and with a large tree covered with lights and ornaments.
Greensboro
Several families on Lake Oconee display Christmas lights on their dock. Some can be seen from the roads around the lake.
Madison
Several of the stores in Madison have Christmas lights in their display windows.

In Madison, the post office square has a lighted nativity scene.
Eatonton
Many of our churches have Christmas Eve candlelight services, such as this one at First Baptist Church in Eatonton.

The Morgan County Courthouse in Madison is nicely decorated with a Christmas tree and wreaths as well as decorated light poles.
Madison
A few miles west of Madison off US 278 (Dixie Highway) is a private display that’s open to the public: Christmas on Dixie. The lighted exhibits cover approximately two acres. You are allowed to walk around and look at the displays.
