Smith Communications is a six-generation publishing company owned by A. Mark Smith Sr. and based in Eatonton, Georgia.

Since purchasing The Eatonton Messenger newspaper in 1956, Smith Communications has grown to publishing four weekly, award-winning newspapers: The Eatonton Messenger, Lake Oconee News, Baldwin Bulletin and Jones County News, as well as six magazines: Lakelife, Jones Living, Georgia Lake Country's Health & Fitness, Homefinder, Lake Country Outdoors, and Lake Country Boating.

Smith Communications publications offer hyper-local reporting and storytelling on all aspects of Georgia’s Lake Country and beyond, with reach from Madison/Morgan County, down to Milledgeville and Macon.
